I don't even know what happened the rest of the afternoon. I have like 4 exams next week.

my parents cooked me food that I like so I ate a lot today… I ate half a peanut butter sandwiches and more than half a banana for lunch. I can almost use running late to class as an excuse but it's a really bad one that I don't like.

I like to watch eating videos… not mukbangs, but they're basically all mukbangs now. I wish there were more eating videos where they eat normal sized portions and actually chew their food. everyone is taking TOO huge bites and not chewing enough at all. how do you swallow all that ???

oh no, I remember. I bought a venti ice cream float or something… ate all that AND dinner too. can I do it tomorrow? I am a little worried about my acute gastritis (not an ulcer, actually! not yet..? hope not ever. edited the title of the last post too). the mayoclinic page for it doesn't have "eat" in the self-care section! clevelandclinic doesn't say anything about skipping meals either..!! but the doctor who did my check-up did and she's the most reliable out of all my sources. obviously I'm just looking for excuses. I wish someone would tell me what to do.

(this journal has turned into a …** diary really quickly @_@ this really is so embarrassing. but this is what I wanted this journal to be, right…)

my appreciation for Pavement is at an all-time high… just a few things to say: I don't get the hype for Gold Soundz and the Watery, Domestic EP. everyone seems to love those but to me they're just ~okay~. I do like the slacker style, not so much the lo-fi sound. Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain and Wowee Zowee are my favorite albums. I'm really trying but I can't get into their last two albums Brighten the Corners and Terror Twilight.

I played minecraft today on my beta 1.7.3 world. I'm focused on mining but mining is so hard! I keep getting lost in caves and I'm always freaked out… the game stays muted with videos or music in the background to help with that. I'm also building paths and checkpoints in the cave, mining out sections to make it easier to navigate so I don't get lost. I don't want to strip mine, really. lapis lazuli is my main goal but I found my first four diamonds and collected obsidian while I was at it. not sure what I would do in the nether. that place is scary, even though I'm in peaceful mode. I totally get it now, when people say peaceful mode is scary. not scary in the new versions but scary in the old versions, that I get. because really it's as if the land itself is alive and watching. in modern minecraft, it's like as though you are an ant on the body of a giant. but in beta minecraft, the world is scaled to your size and it's as if you are at met at eye level.

I had to miss a class because my tummy hurt reaally bad and I couldn't walk without whiting out… I spent three hours waiting for a check-up at the campus clinic. class skipped and time wasted, and possibly, grades dropped again because we were supposed to have an assessment. I was worried about not being able to attend so I prioritized securing a medical certificate. maybe if I just went home instead and rested I would have been able to come to class anyway. my dad was there to pick me up because I couldn't walk and I told him to take me to the clinic instead of home. I didn't know it would take three hours. they said it's because I skip meals. I don't get it because I still ate even if it's just a little bit! I never experienced this before either. I got a prescription for medicine that they say I really need to take but like, really? I should have just taken an antacid. or I guess not. this does not mean I have to overeat during meals

I spent the time making a takumi sumino themed playlist out of pavement songs. I think I did a good job matching the vibe and lyrics to his character. most of the songs happen to be from Slanted and Enchanted even if I don't even like S&E that much. I wonder if it's because its cover is red and takumi is also red. I want to share with other hundred line fans and I'm thinking of making a cute little video playlist for it with takumi's face in the background alongside the album cover and title stuff. you can listen to it here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLG9OQ_Klol4o

egg drop soup

I think I decided I will cook today. I remembered that my mom bought frozen vegetables for my soup. it's got cauliflower, broccoli and carrot. all agreeable in theory.

I feel hesitant because I'm unsure about the noodles. I always add noodles to my egg drop soup. there is likely to be some uncooked noodles left over from months ago when I last cooked this meal but I am inclined to believe that it rotted during that time or got eaten by the big rat of the ceiling. I would love to have some tofu in place of the noodles, but it's too late to get any now because tofu is only good when it was frozen beforehand. my mom bought me a supply of tofu but that was months ago. I didn't cook egg drop soup at all until eventually she used the ingredients herself in a different meal. when the tofu was thawing in a bowl of water, I took one of the blocks and put it back in the freezer. it's a small block of months-old frozen tofu. maybe it's still okay—it's not going to be much and I'll probably find a way to fill in the empty space with some type of pasta.

the only other ingredient that I was missing were shrimp cubes to add some semblance of flavor. I didn't have enough money so I would have to go home then go back to the store. I don't like asking for money. while planning this on my first trip home after class, the jeepney driver had to slam the breaks to avoid hitting a pedestrian. I got scared, so I took it as a sign not to go. I checked what cubes we have at home and it was all just beef and pork! save half a broth cube of chicken; it sat at the very bottom of the jar without its plastic wrapper, folded in foil. it's the half-cube that I didn't use from the last time I cooked egg drop soup. how safe is it? I'm worried of invisible mold. I am considering using one of the pork or beef cubes instead, but I'm not looking forward to it…

this morning we had an assessment covering three lessons. I tried to study and I very well knew it wasn't enough. I was resigned to just guessing my way through it, ready for the low grade that I would receive. my teacher is very kind and surprised by allowing us to partner up to answer the assessment. she didn't tell us this beforehand so it was planned for our best interest, very much done to ease the load off our shoulders. but for my case it meant that I then had someone to drag down with me. as it turned out however, my partner and I were more like witnesses of each other's turmoil. both failed to study, but I certainly worse than her. far worse

I was running late so I skipped breakfast and said I would eat after class. I'm just going to wait until lunch now and they will leave me alone with my frozen-fresh egg drop soup.

I'm waiting for the tofu to thaw.

the carrot was still cold, the cauliflower was bitter, so I ate only the broccoli tops. two pieces of each brassica was too generous and one of carrot was too much. I forgot if frozen vegetables should be thawed before being put into soups or if the boiling water can take care of it. I totally messed up the timing of the ingredients. I put two eggs instead of one to take the place of a starch slurry which would have covered the absence of noodles (I couldn't find it). it created a suffocating cloud of weird egg water cream. I enjoyed the tofu the most and turns out a small block was just enough. I did put too much water so I'm like totally full. eating it lasted longer than it should. 3/10 meal

tonight's update:

I didn't realize my parents actually cooked me some egg tuna for lunch. I didn't see it on the table. I ate that for dinner, alongside the fried egg that was meant to be my breakfast. not part of the plan

it's been long enough that I am confident that I can sort out songs from the first three pavement studio albums into a tier list

I have recommended pavement to at least two people. their strange and kooky lyrics drew me in but their nutty rhythms were catchy enough to keep me listening. my most favorite songs right now is probably Elevate me later. I made a playlist for the occasion: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTdBKkNqf1fQ

two weeks ago I completely forgot we had an online quiz scheduled at 9pm and I totally missed it. so I just gave up for the night and went to bed and cried about it. then when I checked in the morning, they actually opened it for an extra hour and more that night. I'm dumb and hopeless. a bruise is finally forming on my wrist. finally can see it. it's small and dumb and amounts to nothing.

my brother found out that it's cheaper to buy fast food for lunch and dinner. I'm totally DOOMED. doooomed. I can't say no for some reason. then I'd tell him to get me chicken breast so I can split it to lunch and dinner. but then when I'm eating I make this excuse that I should eat more at lunch so I can eat less during dinner when it's time to retire and do nothing. as if I don't already do nothing but sit on my ass all afternoon after lunch. I feel like things are so much better when I prepare my own food. I just don't know what to make! all I know is how to prepare carbs!

I can fix this, you know. just go to the grocery and buy my shrimp cubes, then I can just have egg drop soup. I don't like asking for money. I don't like cooking. everyone sees the weird food I make and makes stuff up about me in their minds.

I have a diary for these kinds of entries. it's a little green notebook that I named caterpillar. it's small because I'm ashamed. nobody around me will understand.

I might be bad for not putting warnings or ways to filter these kinds of things out from my blog. at that point, please just don't look. I'm so embarrassed and I hate everyone

I tried to study tonight but what does it matter. none of it is sticking. tomorrow I'm just going to guess and guess. and just hope things will be ok.

I like totally cheated on my quiz. it's an online quiz. and teacher said it's to help us get our grades up. so, it's fine. she knows we just need to pass. fuck my life honestly. we are so dead. I'm such a failure I seriously need to starve myself. I hit my arm on the wall I think I'm forming bruises but I can't see. I have to do this every day

since I reinstalled my OS I had to download hundred line again and thank god my save files work still. all I ever do in this game is go to the gallery and look at nozomi and karua. takumi is such a fugly fatass.

a series of messages sent by me in a Matrix Room: "all I ever do in this game is go to the gallery and look at karua and nozomi", followed by a cropped CG of Takumi Sumino sitting down. "takumi looks like a total fatty in this pic", "his mama calls him her baby belly boy"

other music I've been listening to: RAYE, her album "THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE". I describe it as depressed millennial woman positivity music. it's a nice album and it's not annoyingly positive. in particular Click Clack Symphony catches my attention this past week. maybe I'm just stupid but going outside is really that helpful. dressing up is fun. I notice that I spend more time doing my makeup and putting together my outfit when I'm doing bad at school. feels kind of wrong arriving late to class with crazy eyeliner and glittery eyelids. seems like I really took my time, my priorities are set. still I hold onto some questions or conflicts about the song not really applying to me. I'm not included in all that there's just something wrong with me and I suck

eyes fried fingers dirty

I spent the whole day on the computer. I say that as if I don't do that every day. today it was intentional. I spent it mostly troubleshooting git and ftp trying to set up my workflow (?) for when I code and update my site. as of now, my main site has moved to heart143.love-dissection.cc albeit the move not yet formally acknowledged on the site itself.

the wifi is slow in my room so I had plenty of time in between commit pushes and pulls to browse the net. discord getting banned in my country (despite promptly being unbanned not long after) was the abrupt push I needed to leave that platform, or at least start my depart. still the scrolling bug has me; forums are my new go-to but at least these are slow and require mindful interaction to consume. a few interesting articles and threads on indieweb forums arouse my interest:

32-bit cafe - dealing with rage bait in the indie web from which in the featured article I found this article that is worth reading: the web revival space as a refuge for harmful ideas: part II. I never felt like critique articles had a place on my site but I know how important they are in the grand dialogue. I worry that the things I author come off more as whiny complaining than actual productive insights. I avoid "calling out" specific articles or people by skipping the rebutting a view I disagree with part and going straight to the recommendations and alternative ideals. the impact of this I imagine has a limit that I must get past eventually if I really wanted to say something.

another interesting forum thread is this one on the melonland forum about e-mail culture. e-mail has totally become an activity that I keep on my radar. I'm very happy to be communicating with people over email. particularly, email listings is an old web practice that I was curious about for the past week. although I feel like it's justified in being considered a dated method for mass communication. There is this article on how email could work as a fence for social interactions on the internet. it goes along with my general disdain for online hyperactivity that allows FOMO to breathe. I am correct when I say people should not be casually available for conversation 24/7 just because the internet exists.

some other things I did is set up a new obsidian vault. realize that it's easier to switch to a notes app on the computer than pulling out a notebook to scrawl on. I used iotas from the gnome circle for simplicity but it being unable to log times and dates of note creation put me back on obsidian. obsidian feels bloated and distracting, but given how reliant I've become on a digital notes app at least for this week, I decided to give it another chance. this time I'll avoid over complicating things with note-taking system setups and such—a total productivity trap. I just need a place to save links and drafts. apostrophe from the gnome circle was a fine middle ground with the minimal interface, but the file-naming step often felt like a halt in my momentum whenever I try to close a document or open a new one. iotas let me close my editor without worrying about saving it but it didn't log my notes' creation dates, and apostrophe lends itself to being obsidian simplified, but fails on the workflow side of things. obsidian has the best of both world except it's kind of bloated and is also an electron app. lots of distractions. now I may complain about bloat but I shall present a secondary notes app that I found very very useful: buffer, which is an ephemeral notes app that has no save function. gnome has yet to deliver its own clipboard app and so I've been making do with buffer. it spawns as a little rectangle on my screen and it is very cute and handy, almost like a little notepad like in real life.

oh yes I use the gnome desktop! quite vanilla if I might add, apart from an extension that keeps my screen on. multitasking is an unrealistic expectation meant to keep housewives tired and poor.
